What a wonderful week we had in the residential camp of Pendine Outdoors! We thoroughly enjoyed our week; learning a variety of new activities, challenging ourselves with new experiences and discovering talents that we never knew we had. The week was filled with adventurous outdoor activities including abseiling, wall climbing and zip wiring. Although the thought of each activity was daunting, we had a great time pushing ourselves to the limits and achieving new goals.
We also built upon our team building skills in activities such as low ropes, orienteering and roundhouse tasks. We learnt that working together and communicating efficiently helped us achieve the games more successfully.
In addition to all the activities on camp, we had a wonderful day exploring the local town of Laugharne. We had the opportunity to see the famous poet Dylan Thomas’ boathouse after working our way through a quiz in his house overlooking the estuary. Later that day we had a beautiful afternoon on Pendine beach, playing seaside games and exploring the caves with the knowledgeable instructors.
To end a wonderful week, we celebrated by swapping our outdoor muddy gear for our glad rags in camp disco. We danced the night away thinking of all the wonderful experiences we had during the week. We would like to say diolch yn fawr iawn to all the instructors at Pendine Outdoors for such a fantastic trip.
Well done to all the pupils for their excellent behaviour and manners whilst in Pendine. The boys and girls would also like to say a very big thank you to Miss Williams, Mrs Williams and Mr Edwards for accompanying them to Pendine and for making sure that everyone was happy and safe during the week.
